10 December 2001
I'm so excited! I'm finally getting somewhere in my research. I've been in touch with 5 or 6 people who have had information and photos to share. The photo album is finally starting to *look* like a photo album, and I've now added 2000 individuals to the file. I'm glad I have plenty of time off for winter break; I'm sure I'll be spending a lot of it trying to get this thing up to how I want it to look...

Well it looks like I have a job for next semester. I'm glad and I'm sure my parents are relieved that I won't be a bum anymore... in theory at least. I'll be working in the FIT science department tutoring center as a tutor, can you believe it! But the pay is incredible so I couldn't pass it up... hope it works out.... On a side note, KINKO'S SUCKS!! I need some stuff printed and it takes too long in the school computer lab so I tried to take it to Kinko's but they charge you like $1.50 per page plus $10 for each file they have to open! I have 8 photos I need printed but I am NOT willing to spend $90 for them... it's so ridiculous. Anyway....

19 November 2001
I cannot *wait* to go home! I'm almost afraid to get too excited about it though... I don't want to jinx anything. But I got my drugs so hopefully the flight will be relatively peaceful.. wouldn't want to have a nervous breakdown en route...

HOLY FREAKIN' CRAP!! We did it! This is so unbelievable; what a fantastic World Series! So exciting, so many twists and turns, so many different emotions... one minute I'm bracing myself for defeat and the next I'm jumping up and down and screaming with tears running all over my face! I never understood how people could get so worked up about sports before, but man, I sure do now! I don't care if they never win it again; this was amazing! Go Diamondbacks! Woohooohooooooo!!

25 October 2001
We're going to the World Series! I can't believe it! It's so incredible, I can't wait to dethrone the Yankees! Yeah! Go Diamondbacks!

14 October 2001
I am such a bum. I ditched the IFFE this weekend... but it's not like I just sat around my dorm and watched reruns of "Golden Girls" (which I have been known to do--shut up, Rob!!) I actually got a lot of work done. So that's a good thing. Another good thing is that I don't have anthrax. Of course, by the time I show any symptoms, it'll be too late... but I try not to think about that! And, on an unrelated note, where the hell is the baseball game? ESPN says that Game 5 is supposed to be on at 7:50 ET and it's after 8! I'm getting a little impatient to watch Curt Schilling kick some Redbird butt!
************************************************************
WOOHOO!!!! We won! Man, that was an awesome game. I was biting my nails the whole time... but we won with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth with a score of 1-1. Womack and Matty came through in the clutch. Way to go, guys! Now we just have to defeat the Braves... We can do it! Diamondbacks rule!

Mom and Todd are coming to visit me on Tuesday- I'm looking forward to seeing them and showing off how well I've adjusted to the chaos that is New York City... of course, Mom has a list 3 feet long of all the things she wants to do while they're here, so I may not even see them at all! And the weekend after they leave I will be working at the International Fashion Fabric Exhibition and I'll be able to attend the design seminars. So that's pretty cool... maybe then I'll actually have something semi-interesting to post...

15 September 2001
Well, thanks to the generosity and concern of my Aunt JoAnna, I am out of the city for the weekend. Frederick, Maryland is a nice little town; and I'm finally relaxing a little. I slept well for the first time in a long time, especially since Tuesday! Today we went shopping for a kitten for Allison's sixth birthday. Didn't find one yet, but she's one patient little girl...

It has been a terrible two days... I am so thankful that everyone I know is safe, and that I have so many people who care about me. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens next...

9 September 2001
So I saw a man on the street yesterday scratching his butt against a subway entrance rail. Mmmmm...yummy. Anyway, there's not much exciting going on around here right now. I'm working on storyboards for a couple of childrenswear lines, so that's cool. Other than that, haven't been doing too much, except avoiding the corner diner because of my not-easily-put-off admirer!

1 September 2001
So I survived the first week of class. I'm excited and nervous about school; there's going to be a lot of work, but it will prepare me well for the professional world. I hope I can make it! I'd better; art supplies alone are going to wind up costing more than tuition! Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a tad, but damn! I need to buy a lot of stuff! Oh well. If it helps me get a plum job when I graduate, it'll be worth it.

19 August 2001
Oh how I love dorm life... okay, it's only the second day, but still... oh well. NYC is as crazy as I anticipated, but it's a good kind of crazy. I saw a mouse today in the middle of the sidewalk. I was just walking along, shopping, and there it was. It wasn't even afraid; it didn't run away or anything. The vermin here are as fearless as the people, I guess. Very interesting. I'm hoping that before long, once I get the photo album for JewRoots going, I'll be able to put together a page with pix of my neighborhood and all that jazz, for whoever's interested in seeing what it's like around here. But at least I finally got the family tree up! I was so excited that it worked, I kept going back like, every hour to make sure it was still there! What a dork.

27 July 2001
Yikes! The date is really creeping up on me... only three and a half weeks before I leave Arizona! I'm still trying to get the family tree info up but I don't think I can because it might not be the right format! Ergh... after all that work! I've expanded to over 1200 individuals in the file but I can't share the information yet. Oh well... just have to be patient, I guess.

26 June 2001
Well, I'm 22 years old, a college graduate, and on 18 August 2001 I will be moving into a dorm... aahhhh!! Cafeteria food! Community bathrooms! How weird is that? But it's the affordable alternative to finding an apartment in New York. Plus, if I'm ever broke, at least I'll still be able to eat. So I got *that* going for me (to quote Rob). Mmmm boy, I can't wait!

22 June 2001
Well, I finally got a hit! And *not* by telling someone to check out the site. Thank you for your support, Genie! You should set up a site too. I'll add your URL as one of my links. Anyway, I'm at work now (obviously *not* working). I'm still waiting to find out when I can move. FIT is being so slow! Errgg...it's quite frustrating. I did find something funny, though, at Rebecca_Jew@sbd.org... I have no idea what this is, but it's really weird. How did they get my name? And why? Oh well...

5 June 2001
It all started out like any ordinary day, but then it happened: I got to act as a pincushion for a tuberculosis test. Mmmmmm, bruises... But wait! That's not even the best part... I got a *FREE* Bible from the Gideons International! Hot damn! Life is great!

26 May 2001
It's finally starting to sink in that I'm going to be moving across the country, away from everyone and everything that I know and love. I have mixed feelings; of course I want to go. FIT is a great school. But I'm really depressed that I have to leave Rob here. But, I guess we both have to get our educations and see what happens after that.
